The home needed residents to reach the first floor safely. The staircase was old and awkward. Two bends. Uneven steps. Low headroom under a beam. They also wanted minimal drilling to protect the fabric of the building.

We visited the same day, measured the staircase with a digital template tool and designed a custom rail that hugged every bend without stealing space. The powered hinge lifted the rail clear of the bottom hallway so carers could pass.

We lowered the seat height for shorter residents, offset the footplate to avoid scuffing the opposite wall, and fitted a powered swivel so users could get on and off at the top landing without twisting. The track was built off-site and installed a week later in a single visit. No redecorating was needed. We tested, trained staff, left manuals, and set up a service plan for 24/7 cover.
